Stay Active
Chelmsford has three major parks; Hylands Park, Admirals Park and Central Park in the city centre, as well as a wide variety of sports clubs and leisure facilities to keep you and your family active.
The newly redeveloped Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre has a brand new ice rink, swimming pool and gym. There are also a number of other gyms throughout the city offering a wide variety of facilities including spa, pool and tennis courts.
Chelmsford has a range of golf clubs, these include Channels, which is next door to the Beaulieu development, and Chelmsford Golf Club. Chelmsford is also home to Essex Cricket Club and Chelmsford City Football Club. There are local running and cycling clubs near by in Springfield.
Keep Entertained
The city’s Civic Theatre and Cramphorn Studio offer a varied programme of entertainment, including drama, comedy, children’s shows and film screenings.
Meanwhile, the Odeon cinema at the Meadows Shopping Centre and Everyman in Bond Street show the latest blockbusters, along with screenings for kids at the weekends and during school holidays.
Live music can be heard at venues across the city including the Chelmsford City Racecourse.
